A strategic joint venture between
Metrotile Europe and IKO. 

14.01.2011 - Metrotile Europe and IKO are pleased to announce the formation of a strategic joint venture. Both parties see this new joint venture as a win-win situation and will bring tremendous benefits for both. There are no plans of IKO to become directly involved in the oversight of Metrotile, which will remain under the stewardship of the management of Metrotile.

IKO, also a family business, owned by the family Koschitzky, was founded in 1951 in Canada. IKO is global leader in the manufacture and supply of commercial and residential roofing products. IKO entered the European market in 1972 by establishing a shingle manufacturing plant in Belgium (in Ham, about 50km from Metrotile Europe). The company and its affiliated businesses now own and operate facilities in 10 countries throughout Europe.

• Offer complementary 'bitumen' roofing products to our partners/distributors
• A financial stronger base, which gives us more opportunities to grow.
